Data Show That Germany Is Your Best Option for Getting a Multiple-Entry Schengen Visas
Given that Germany had the highest rate of issuance for multiple-entry Schengen visas in Germany offers the best chance of success.
According to recently revealed information on Schengen visa applications for the previous year, 90.6% of Schengen visas were multiple-entry, allowing their holders to enter the region more than once. These visas were issued by German consulates and visa centres located all over the world.
In precise statistics, Germany issued 817,307 visas, 740,356 of which were multiple-entry, out of the 1,043,297 visa applications that were approved.
While a few other nations also issue multiple-entry visas at a rate that is close to this one, such as Slovenia (81.6%) and Estonia (81.3%), France and Spain, which in 2022 received more visa requests than Germany, issue significantly fewer MEVs.
Despite receiving nearly two million applications for Schengen visas in 2022, France remained the most popular country for applicants, but just 40% of the visas it issued were valid for multiple entries.
Similarly, just 39.3% of the short-term visas given by Spain, which this year got the second-highest number of applications from Schengen countries, included the multiple-entry option, according to Schengen Visa.
Other nations having a high percentage of MEVs issued outside of Germany, Slovakia, and Estonia are as follows
- Austria received 74.9% of the 125,275 visas awarded.
- Italians made up 73.8% of the 629,223 total.
- Out of 142,302, Finland accounted for 72.3%.
The nations with the lowest rates of MEV issuance, however, are Sweden (33.6%), Norway (33.6%), and Iceland (5.8%).
The rejection rate in Germany is also lower than the EU average.
Germany not only has the highest MEV issuance rate among the other Member States, but it also has one of the lowest rejection rates.
According to data, Germany turned down 16.2% of the applications it received in 2022, compared to a 17.9% average for all Schengen Member States. This indicates that, compared to most Schengen nations, Germany has far lower rejection rates for Schengen visas.
The four Schengen nations with the highest rejection rates in 2022 were Malta, Sweden, Belgium, and France, meaning that applicants from these four nations were more likely to have their visa requests denied.
On the other hand, Iceland, Lithuania, Finland, and Latvia had the lowest rates of rejection among the Schengen nations.
